Last year our annual ice park (ice slides and carving competitions) melted and had to be cut short; this year they extended it by 1.5 weeks! We've gotten about 6 inches of snow over the past week. Usually it's cold, but Fairbanks doesn't get a lot of snow - kind of like an arctic desert. Breakup is going to be very messy when it finally happens... Sounds like a great day WC! :) Caterpillar is creative. The kids must've loved it almost as much as you do. ;) We had a bad snow storm in April 1st one year. It was a lot of very wet snow. A lot of us were stuck working over night at the hospital. A big tree broke from the weight of the snow and crashed down into the ED parking lot. Fortunately no one was injured and no cars were damaged, but it scared the daylights out of me because it was so close to where I was working. Trees broke, including one of our pine trees and lines were downed all over the county. We didn't get much snow this winter. Your Lucky! :) Wow! Sounds like a great day WC! :)
